An excellent opportunity exists for a dynamic team player to join Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Physician with an interest in Acute Medicine.
Diana Princess of Wales is developing and investing in its acute care model. The Acute Medical Unit (AMU) has 39 beds and it is planned to open an Ambulatory Emergency Care facility during 2017 following the successful model already in place at our sister hospital Scunthorpe General Hospital. Information systems on the Unit have been recently modernised to improve patient care and further initiatives are progressing to deliver a full Electronic Patient Record. On site, state of the art diagnostics are available 24/7.
These 3 posts are to support the expansion of the Acute Medicine Department.
The successful candidates will form one of a team of five consultants in the department providing services at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital. The posts have been developed on the background of service redesign, 7 day access and growing needs to support education and training. The appointees shall join 15 General Physicians in medicine each with a special interest.
Northern Lincolnshire is an attractive place to live and work, with superb value housing in award winning market towns and villages as well as larger centres. Excellent local grammar schools compete favourably with independent schools in national league tables. Humberside airport, Hull ferry terminals and good transport links provide convenient national and international access.
The area has to be visited to appreciate the benefits of living and working here.
If you have the necessary qualifications and attributes, come and shape the future of front line medical care at our hospital.
All you need is:
Good experience in acute/general medicine at least at registrar’s level;
Motivation and enthusiasm;
CCT or equivalent in acute medicine or medical speciality (or a date within 6 months of the interview date).
There is an excellent modern Development and Education Centre with extensive facilities.
