Together We Care, We Respect and We Deliver
Join us and help us provide this vision to a population of more than 440,000 people. Our Trust is one the of area’s biggest employers, running hospitals in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole as well as community services.
Are you interested in developing both your clinical and leadership skills?
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Dietitian to take the team lead role in our acute Nutrition and Dietetic team at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
You will lead our supportive, dedicated acute team covering the wards and ensuring seamless continuity of care for patients who leave hospital. You will need to have established dietetic skills and experience in nutrition support, including enteral and parenteral feeding, supporting critical care, cross-site cover when needed and regular MDT working. This will include an exciting development to support a Trustwide Nutrition team, which is currently being established.
Ideally your specialist caseload will be in surgery, including lower GI surgery and pancreatitis, but there may be flexibility in the role according to special interest. You will work closely within the surgical team to support the clinical lead and nutritional team lead in surgery, including stoma nurses and ward surgical nurses. As we are a small team, you will also have the opportunity to maintain and develop skills in other caseloads, including nutrition support and cover in other areas in line with service demands.
As part of your role you will lead the acute team, this includes ensuring all staff have regular supervision and appraisals and managing absence. You will also need to have some awareness or experience in service development, service demand and workforce planning. Your experience should include identification, planning and delivering education sessions for other healthcare professionals including medical and nursing staff.
We are a dynamic, forward-thinking team, with strong links to other MDT colleagues. We use an electronic system for patient records and now use a service-designed template to support our case notes and outcome measures.
We have good links with colleagues in the community team (as all staff are based in the same location) and with other MDT colleagues, e.g. in speech and language therapy.
Grimsby and Scunthorpe are vibrant towns surrounded by pretty villages and the beautiful North/North East Lincolnshire countryside. Grimsby is only 45 minutes’ drive from the 2017-2020 City of Culture, Hull and an easy drive of less than an hour and a half from the lively city of Leeds.
Relocation packages of up to £4,000 are available, along with support from our recruitment team who can assist you with finding accommodation, schools, nurseries, etc and provide information about any aspect of relocation.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
