We have an exciting new opportunity for a Dietitian with a range of generalist experience who is interested in developing more specialist skills in the area of Nutrition Support, with a particular focus on Stroke and Respiratory caseloads.
This role will work across a variety of settings, including potentially some in-reach to acute wards, in out-patient clinics and in the community. You will be based at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby, but may have the opportunity to work and liaise across site, including to Scunthorpe General Hospital Hyperacute Stroke Unit. We are looking for a motivated and resourceful Dietitian with excellent communication and team working skills, to work as an integral member of multiprofessional teams in both Stroke and Respiratory Care. You will be responsible for providing specialist nutritional assessment and ongoing support to patients with Stroke, including as appropriate involvement in secondary prevention. You will also provide input to the Respiratory ward and to patients in specialist out-patient clinics and to those attending for pulmonary rehabilitation. Your delivery will be supported by a Dietetic Assistant where appropriate.
We can offer you:
- A professionally led service
- Support from a small and friendly team
- Regular peer support and clinical supervision
- Appraisal and review
- Excellent IT facilities and access to shared electronic records

Applicants who do not fully meet the person specification will be considered for a development post and receive support and training to progress into the band 6 role. You will provide clinical leadership to junior dietetic colleagues and also have the opportunity to be highly involved in service development. The Nutrition and Dietetic Department supports regular supervision and continuing professional development, and provides training to A, B and C placement students. Applicants must hold up-to-date HCPC registration. Car driver essential for this post.
