Together We Care, We Respect and We Deliver
Join us and help us provide this vision to a population of more than 440,000 people. Our Trust is one the of area’s biggest employers, running hospitals in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole as well as community services.
Path Links is a managed pathology network delivering services across two NHS trusts which encompasses five general hospital sites and primary care providers in Greater Lincolnshire which has a population of 1.1 million. Lincolnshire is a largely rural county with towns and villages that are not only steeped in history but offer affordable housing and excellent transport links.
An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our admin team in the Cellular Pathology Department at Path Links. Centralised on the Lincoln County Hospital site we deliver services to five District General Hospitals across two Trusts, receiving approximately 65,000 specimen requests per year.
The department has a reputation for service innovation and improvement having acted as an exemplar site for NHS Improvements. We are looking for a suitable individual with the drive and desire to contribute to our continuous improvement programme.
As a Medical secretary in Cellular Pathology the main duties include audio tying of reports, copy typing, liaising with clinical personnel and dealing with telephone queries.
Working as part of a team, you will possess excellent organisational and communication skills. You must be flexible in your approach to working, able to work well on your own initiative as well as providing guidance to support grade and trainee staff as required.
Part time and flexible working arrangements will be considered.
An informal visit to the department is strongly encouraged.
Path Links operates a continuous improvement programme and full engagement of all staff is expected.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
