The Path Links Microbiology Directorate is seeking a highly motivated and experienced secretary to join its busy cross-county A&C Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a highly competent and friendly team whose focus centres on the safe and effective delivery of diagnostic microbiology services in providing comprehensive administrative support to the main Path Links laboratories and general secretarial support to the Path Links Consultant Microbiologists.
Based on the Lincoln site and working 16 hours over a minimum of 4 days, the successful candidate must possess GCSE English at Grade C or above, have RSA Level 3 audio and typewriting qualifications and an excellent working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite. A good knowledge of medical terminology is essential to this post.
Attention to detail is fundamental in ensuring the accurate production of documentation and correspondence required by this post. Coupled with this, the successful candidate will be a good team player with the ability and aptitude to communicate well at all levels and, with excellent time management and organisational skills, will be capable of meeting deadlines and balancing the demands of a busy and varied workload.
Experience of working as a secretary within the NHS and with pathology/healthcare IT systems is desirable but not essential, as full training in these specialist skills will be given. Applicants are advised to be aware that the generic nature of the job description for this post belies many of the duties required of the post holder and this post involves little patient contact. As such, applicants are strongly advised to contact the Admin Team Leader for an informal discussion prior to submitting an application.
This is anything but a conventional medical secretarial role so, if you are looking for a job where no two days are the same and you have the skills, enthusiasm and ambition to join a small but supportive team, we would like to hear from you.
