Together We Care, We Respect and We Deliver
Join us and help us provide this vision to a population of more than 440,000 people. Our Trust is one the of area’s biggest employers, running hospitals in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and Goole as well as community services.
Are you at a fork in the road and looking for a new but rewarding challenge? Not sure which path to take? Consider working with us in Path Links and you’ll be heading in the right direction for the chance to work with a fast thinking, forward moving team of six consultants covering the county of Lincolnshire. We have a new opportunity for a specialty doctor to book their seat on the Path Links journey and complete our supportive team.
This new post is based within the county-wide Path Links NHS Pathology Service, at a site to be negotiated with the successful candidate. The principal hospitals served by the team are Scunthorpe General Hospital, Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby, Lincoln County Hospital, Pilgrim Hospital in Boston and Grantham & District Hospital.
The Path Links model of networked NHS Microbiology Service is well recognised nationally and the successful applicants will have an opportunity to play a full part in further developing this exciting service. Current projects include repatriation of a significant proportion of our referred specimen types and the further development of in-house virology and molecular laboratory services. Path Links has close associations with local universities and Medical Schools and the appointees will have the opportunity to develop their own interests if they wish.
The duties include daytime clinical liaison, infection prevention, and laboratory report validation. See JD for details. There is provision for remote access to Trust IT systems that allows validation and access to all county-wide results from a distance. There is no obligation to attend the laboratories at the weekend or on Bank Holidays. A proportional element of working from home may be allowed under an agreement with the Director of Microbiology. Bank Holidays worked on call are reimbursed through extra annual leave.
Voted the Times’ “Best Place to Live in Britain Today” 2014, the county of Lincolnshire is an attractive, largely rural area with access to good road, rail, air and ferry communications. Housing is relatively inexpensive and there are excellent state and private education establishments.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
